Previous Learning Flow
Problem
Unclear feedback and repetitive flows discouraged learners
The learning flow relied on text-heavy cards and vague feedback. Users struggled to understand if they were progressing, and the experience felt less rewarding over time — leading to churn.
CHALLENGES
Small design gaps had an outsized impact on learning
User research revealed that learners wanted clearer signals of progress, more variety in question types, and small rewards to keep momentum. The challenge was to introduce these changes without losing the app’s playful, accessible feel.
Feedback from users
Unclear feedback
It was hard to understand whether users’ answers were correct/incorrect.
Repetitive
The learning flow was the same every time. It felt monotonous after a few modules.
Weak progress cues
No sense of milestones when completing lessons.
SOLUTIONS
We redesigned the learning flow to clarify, motivate, and retain
We introduced flashcard-style snippets, micro-interactions to signal progress, and more engaging feedback states. We added bookmarking, streaks, and a glossary for quick reference. The redesign clarified progress, boosted daily engagement, and improved retention beyond the third module.

Learnings
Iterating on details can unlock bigger outcomes
This project showed how thoughtful adjustments — clearer hierarchy, richer feedback, small motivational hooks — can meaningfully improve learning retention. It reinforced the value of balancing fun with credibility in an educational product.
