Designing a teacher portal to simplify classroom management

Default image

Zogo partnered with schools to bring financial literacy into classrooms. Teachers needed a way to assign modules, monitor student progress, and report back to administrators. Without a dedicated tool, many relied on manual tracking or reached out to partner support.

Problem

Manual workflows created frustration for teachers and high support costs for Zogo

Managing classrooms and content was time-consuming and unclear. Teachers had no easy way to assign skills across classes, curriculum lists were long and hard to scan, and progress data was difficult to access.

SOLUTIONS

The portal reduced support needs and improved school adoption

I designed a My Classrooms dashboard that displayed subject, grade, student count, and progress at a glance. Collapsible curriculum sections with headers and skill counts made large lists scannable. Clear call-to-action buttons and hover states supported intuitive navigation.

Guided classroom setup helps teachers quickly create and organize new classes.

Student progress tables provide clear insights with reports ready to download.

Account management tools let teachers handle student accounts independently.

Collapsible curriculum sections make assigned skills easy to scan and manage.

Learnings

Focusing on clarity created wins for both teachers and the business

Small interface details such as headers, badges, and collapsible sections made the experience easier for educators. The portal delivered a smoother classroom workflow for teachers while giving Zogo a scalable way to support its school partners.
